On Sunday the 9th November there will be the annual Remembrance day service in Ramsbottom.
Every year, hundreds have lined Bolton Street and Bridge Street for the parade down to St Paul’s Church to pay respect to the fallen of our town and villages.
Residents are also welcome to take part in the Church Service immediately following the two minutes silence and wreath laying ceremony.
This year, we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War in 1914.
For those taking part in the parade, the details are as follows:-
10:30am Meet at Ramsbottom British Legion
10:50am March to the Cenotaph, Bridge Street
11:00am Last post – 2 minutes silence
11:15am Service at St Paul’s Church
12:00pm March back to Legion from the Railway Station
12:15pm Dismiss from the Legion
Refreshments will be provided at the Legion after the parade.
I hope that as many residents join us as possible.
