Ramsbottom Pie Festival took place last Sunday at St Paul’s Church in Bridge Street, featured various pie stalls from Walmsleys, Sissy Greens to name but a few; a pie eating competition and a best pie contest.
Such was the popularity of the festival that most of the pie sellers ran out of stock mid-afternoon.
The event’s organisers, Gregg Fletcher and Sara Wilkins, did a fantastic job in putting on yet another successful event – bringing people from far and wide to our town.
I understand that there were between two and three thousand people attending.
I had the pleasure of helping judge the “best pie” competition – which was won by 11-year-old Luke with his apple and sultana pie.
My colleague, Cllr Rob Hodkinson, also assisted, giving out various prizes, including a prize for the best professional pie to Park Farms.
Let’s hope that next year’s event is another success.
