The public inquiry regarding plans to build an Anaerobic Digestion plant at Fletcher Bank in Ramsbottom is to be held next year on 10th March.
You will recall that earlier this year, Bury Council’s planning committee refused to give planning permission for the scheme on the grounds that it was inappropriate development in the green belt, but the applicants – Peel Environmental and Marshalls – recently lodged an appeal.
The matter will now be decided by an independent Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.
The inquiry will be held at the Elizabethan Suite in Bury Town Hall on Tuesday 10 March 2015 at 10am, and is scheduled to last four days.
Whilst the Planning Inspector will have the full file from the Council, including copies of any letters of objection, I am now urging Ramsbottom residents to make their views known to the Planning Inspector again. The deadline for comments is 12th November 2014. Any letters or comments submitted after the deadline will not usually be considered and will be returned. Please note that the Planning Inspector does not acknowledge representations.
