I was delighted to have been asked to stand for re-election as one of your local Councillors for Ramsbottom in the council elections to be held on Thursday 22nd May 2014.
As you know, I live with my wife and children here in Ramsbottom. I work in the legal profession and I am also a school Governor at a Ramsbottom school.
I have been your independent-minded local Councillor for the last 4 years. During that time, I have been campaigning on the issues that matter to us in Ramsbottom — repairing our local roads, retaining our library, pool and leisure centre, working with our local traders and standing up for our town.
I was so proud when our town centre recently won second place in a national “High Street of the Year” award. We all know that Ramsbottom is such a fantastic place to live, work and play—and I want to keep it that way.
As you know, I spearhearded the opposition campaign with RAWS against the AD Waste Plant that was proposed for our town. I was so relieved that our hard work stopped the plant being built, but will continue to fight any appeal brought by Peel Holdings and Tamar Energy.
I have been working closely with Cllr Rob Hodkinson since his election a few weeks ago in the Ramsbottom by-election. Together we are a hard working team that will continue standing up for the residents and businesses of our town.
Whilst I have been able to achieve many things over the last four years, there is still much to do and that is why I am seeking re-election.
I hope that you will support me on Thursday 22nd May. You know that I am passionate about our town and promise that I will always put Ramsbottom first.
My policies for Ramsbottom are detailed above.
If you are in need of a postal vote for the election – perhaps due to being away on holiday, ill-health etc, then contact me as soon as possible.
