On Thursday, the Leader of Bury Council will announce the opening of a consultation on the Council’s budget for 2014/15.
I understand that £9.8 million must be found in savings for the Council to balance its books.
You will recall last year that the Council not only cut services, but rejected Government money and increased Council tax, placing the burden on hard working families – something I strenuously objected to and voted against in the Council Chamber.
Come along to the Ramsbottom, Tottington and North Manor Township Forum on Thursday 14 November at 7pm at Tottington Methodist Church, Market Street, Tottington to hear the Council Leader explain his proposals and where savings can be found.
I personally believe that there is still a great deal of efficiency savings to be found in back office administration – particularly by Councils sharing some services and back office costs.
I now need your views – so that I can go to Bury Town Hall at the time of budget setting and relay what the residents of Ramsbottom want and expect from Bury Council. Please complete my poll below.
