Library Service – up for review

Bury Council announced in February, as part of setting this year’s budget, that it would be looking to save £540,000 from the libraries’ budget by 2015.

The Council is looking at every aspect of the service – which could include possible library closures, staff redundancies, or other ways of offering a library service to the public.

A six-week consultation exercise has been launched.
