CAMPAIGN to stop a fourth Supermarket in Ramsbottom
Have your say on whether Ramsbottom should have yet another supermarket!
Sainsbury’s Supermarkets are in preliminary discussions with Bury Council to purchase the Mondi Paper Mill site on Bridge Street, Ramsbottom.
They plan to develop a superstore on the site, to add to the other three supermarkets we already have in Ramsbottom town centre.
This will destroy our town’s shops and ruin the tourism plan for Ramsbottom. Join our campaign today before it is too late!
No planning application has yet been lodged and Sainsbury’s have not yet made a decision as to whether they intend to purchase the site.
However, Cllr Ian Bevan is liaising with Sainsbury’s and Bury Council to get them to scrap their plans now before they proceed to put in a planning application.
The town needs to get organised now, before a planning application is submitted and it is too late to object.
If a planning application is lodged, then Cllr Ian Bevan will arrange a public meeting in Ramsbottom for the whole town to have their say.
We have no objections to Sainsbury’s as a company but only to a fourth supermarket.
